4-6th of December, 2020
This Christmas we are opening up our cottage for a very special 3 day Workshop. Perched atop of a hill, in the beautiful Dorset countryside, is our Saxon market town we call home. We will light the fireplace in our countryside cottage and invite you in for three days of market wanders, antiques shopping, cooking, photography and that very special Christmas magic that only charming little English villages can produce.
Each day will be based around food, photography, cooking, and creating together.
Though a gentle sprinkle of snow might cover the grounds and veil the beautiful Gold Hill, we will embrace this beautiful time of year, packing blankets and a basket with a flask full of hot chocolate and ginger bisucuits before heading out to the local markets, bottle shops and butchers.
When our baskets are full and our provisions are enjoyed, we will return to the cottage, put another log on the warm glowing fire and begin to cook, style and create seasonal drinks and treats with our market finds, before sitting down for a long leisurely lunch
.
After lunch we'll visit some of my favourite secret antiques shops, search for treasures and return to the cottage to style and photograph before gathering around a long table for dinner, mulled wine will be simmering on the stove and the Christmas tree will be lit. We will bake and cook traditional recipes that will fill the cottage with aromas of cinnamon, cloves, cardamum, saffron and pepper.
There will ll be plenty of wines from local vineyards here in England, and our favourites from France and Italy, and Theo, my English gentleman, will treat us to cocktails and traditional nightcaps before parting ways each night.
Since this is our very special Christmas workshop we'll bundle up after dinner one evening and head to a Christmas concert. It is tradition in our little family and the whole village goes, it never fails to make me all teary eyed and fills me with that nostalgic Christmas spirit of my childhood.
This is probably the workshops I´m most excited about this year, as it´s such a treat to gather a group of wonderful people from all over the world in our wonky cottage, share our love for this tucked away charming part of the English countryside, and ring in Christmas with you.
Time:
We begin at 10am each day gathering at the cottage for a freshly brewed cup of tea and pastries.
There'll be a break after lunch, and we'll round off each day with a long candlelit dinner in front of the fireplace.
The workshop will run from 10am on the 4th until after dinner on the 6th December.
Accommodation is not included, however, we are very happy to help and send you our recommended list of lovely paces to stay during our workshop.
